By the damn way, Om had an article on a Video iPod last July.
And to follow up on the post below...the ViPod will not just be about video out, as Mr. Snitch says in the comments section. It would could and should be about "flash stuff, home movies, cel phone captures, movie previews, animated maps, repurposed web sites" as well.
The killer app in this whole exploding tv thing is not the screen, it's the filter.
Hi I just noticed your link. It is amazing, isn't it, how few people understand the whole content thing. This is a new way of carrying around video content. It's going to engender a whole new KIND of video content. And people will discover a whole new reason and way to watch videos. Of all kinds! Simple animations, slide shows, instructions, recipes, movie trailers, kids' photos, conglomerations of cel phone photos...

Right you are. I commented something like that to Om's site (I think) a while ago...sometimes a content evolution happens because of the technology, and even sometimes becasue of the limitations of the technology...I mentioned rap music as an example of how a limitation (regular instruments too expensive) drove innovation (scratching) which in turn drove a technology advance (sampling.)
